Hello. I assume you have a Dell laptop. Have you ever had success burning DVD9s with this burner? I've never found laptop burners to be very good DL disk burners. I have an NEC 6750 and it'll burn them but not as well as any of my desktop burners. You might try using ImgBurn to burn the DL blanks. http://www.imgburn.com If you think you may be burning lots of DL media, I'd suggest getting a good desktop burner and put it in a firewire or usb2 enclosure and use that instead of your laptop burner. Laptop burners are fragile compared to desktop burners. Other than the above, I don't see anything in your log that stands out as a problem. As you said, you have the latest firmware although I did see a report on the web that there is a version DE05, but I was unable to verify that. Here's the Dell forum listing for that burner. Don't know if there's any help there or not: http://search.dell.com/results.aspx?s=gen&c=us&l=en&cs=&k=TSSTcorp+DVD+-RW+TS-L532B&cat=sup The best version of Nero 6 is 6.6.0.18 available here: Package 1: http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/Nero-6.6.0.18_no_yt.exe Package 2: http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/NVE-3.1.0.21_no_yt.exe or Package 1: http://www.dvdplusvideo.com/Nero-6.6.0.18_no_yt.exe Package 2: http://www.dvdplusvideo.com/NVE-3.1.0.21_no_yt.exe Be sure to run the Nero 6 Clean Tool before installing another version. http://www.nero.com/nero6/eng/Nero_6_CleanTool.html
Yeah, it's a Dell laptop, nothin fancy. I tried burning with ImgBurn which is a fairly impressive program considering it's free! However, no such luck. After 25% I just got an error saying it had trouble burning "the medium"--which I take to be something along the lines of the Nero illegal disc error. I agree. It doesn't look like that laptop burner can handle the DL media. Verbatim +RDL is the best so if it's having trouble with that, it seems hopeless.
