''Could not perform Fixation'' error!!

    Hi, I'm using Nero 6.6.0.16 and when I try to make a MP3 cd I get this error saying that Fixation cannot be performed... why do I get this and how do I solve it?

    pls post LAST section of your Nero log, which is in c:\program files\ahead\nero\nerohistory.log, but DO NOT post your serial number which usually begins with '1A21' or similar

    Here si tyhe history of my last burn, it is driving me carzy it stupid. Anyways im gunna buy dvd-rw eventually but only if i know this wont occur on that. Still can some one help me out with this current problem

    - that's way too old, update (free) to 5.5.10.56 - i think it's the last 5.x update they released - http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/Nero-Burning-Rom-Download-5419.html

    - firmware is up to date

    - DMA needs to be ON, fix via this - http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/FAQ.htm

    - there's one of your problems, you need to free up more memory by closing more programs prior to all burns

    - CD burning is usually very forgiving but i don't like the look of the 'CD manufacturer unknown'. try better media

    - see if ALL the other suggestions make a difference

    - sorry, i had to quote that again just for comedy value, it's a classic error!

    - you have no free memory left, see comments above

    Heres my latest log it failed i did what u suggested, i struggled a little with the dma bit i can find DMA controller which i enabled both of them but cnt find a dma channel. The info u gave me was an xp and im on me. I still know how to access the device manager though ne ways ehre the latest log

    i enabled dma and still mad no difference dont matter ill buy a new drive and hope for the best thanx for all your help its greatly appreciated
