Hey guys, I know some people might say "thats ADVERTISING" to this so I won't post the link to my site but, I can give anyone that wants the link to it a PM with the site, unless the Mods say its ok and I will post my site here temporarily. The only reason I ask this is because I need some feedback on my site (what looks good, what doesn't etc.) I don't even have the site fully up yet but, its getting there. For now, I don't even have my catalog uploaded yet. (Which is another question, where could I host the .pdf?) If I am advertising in anyway (thats why I didn't post the link) I will edit my post so it does not violate the "do NOT advertise via the forum" rule. (Mods, please PM me as I will respond quicker) thanks everyone. Peace, Pop Smith
ok, one note FasFrank recently PM'd me back and he said this: he then went on to describe (in great detail, you don't have to go very far into detail) what was "good" and "What he would change" about it. Also, I would like to publicly thank FasFrank for his *awesome* "critique" of my site. Thank you FasFrank! Peace, Pop Smith
Howdy Pop_Smith If you wanna send over a PM, ill check it out for you www.ccsau.com is the basic sites i have done (i didnt do the 5th and 7th) they were a work mates I can take on Flip and Neph
CJC I can't seem to get into your site with the url you posted. Pop I enjoyed looking at your site and can't wait to see you get it populated with some merchandise. Building a website is just a small part of what you are trying to do. If you ever need help let me know.
Send me a PM. I will give you my honest opinion. (Without the sugar coating.) After seeing your work around here I'M sure that it is top notch anyway. (I just dont want to get left out).
Hey, wow I am excited to see the feedback on my site! I would like to thank everyone for requesting PMs for my URL (and the excellent feedback!) I got a recent e-mail from the company on how to access my Catalog via my website. They said this: ok, I know you guys aren't .WS Support but, I uploaded it into the ftp program and when i try to link it (mywebsite.youknowwhat/eDealsCatalog.pdf) it can't find the file. I also got an e-mail a while ago that told me to upload the site to a specific directory. When I did that and tried to access my site, the site showed up as if it was a FTP site (lol). So I fixed that and got my site to be accessable (what you people I PM'd are seeing). Do you guys have any idea on how I could get the file to work? Peace, Pop_Smith P.S. CuteSITE builder (what I used to make the site, as I don't know HTML code very well) as far I can tell, won't let me link to the PDF. Anyone got a clue on what I should do about this?
Pop_Smith, just having a look and i know what the problem is. I tried going to mywebsite.youknowwhat/eDealsCatalog.pdf and file not found, i thought i would try a space in the name (%20 = space in web) so i tried mywebsite.youknowwhat/eDeals%20Catalog.pdf and BAM it came up, a 62 page PDF document. So just remember, if there is a space in the filename, there is 1 of two things. Either take out the space, or use %20 for each space
Thanks CJC. I fixed it (got rid of the space) so, it should load the PDF when you go to mywebsite.youknowwhat/eDealsCatalog.pdf. Also, to everyone that has given me feedback, I am working on updating the site to make it look better (making the changes that a few of you suggested) I will update everyone when I make these changes. Other then that, keep up the good help Peace, Pop Smith EDIT (by Pop_Smith): I went ahead and changed the location of the start menu. It is now inline with the rest of the buttons. *Thanks FasFrank for that tip*
CJC I looked at all the pages on all your sites and I'm inspired by the excellent designs. I really liked the "million dollar view"! I like the animated look of the flash nav buttons on the Terry's Cycling pages. If a person does not have flash can they still navigate the pages? I know that's not one of your pages, but thought I would ask.
