I have been trying to burn an XVid AVI file to DVD format using this guide:
    http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/convert_avi_to_dvd.cfm

It worked generally well except for two big problems:

1.) For some reason the video is about twice as long as it should be. The movie only runs about an hour but I have about two hours worth of video recorded on my *.m2v file, the rest of which is all black empty space. I am not really sure what is up there.

2.) I have no audio at all. It makes an mp2 file that is a few hundred megs but there is no audio in there. I tried some different settings and just recorded the audio in TMPGEnc but I still came out with nothing but a useless 400 mb file.

Here are my settings from AVIcodec:
    Video : 547 MB, 1099 Kbps, 23.976 fps, 640*368 (16:9), XVID = XVID Mpeg-4, Supported

    Audio : 78 MB, 157 Kbps, 48000 Hz, 2 channels, 0x55 = MPEG Layer-3, Supported
    Audio : 38 MB, 76 Kbps, 48000 Hz, 2 channels, 0x55 = MPEG Layer-3, Supported
    Audio : 38 MB, 77 Kbps, 48000 Hz, 2 channels, 0x55 = MPEG Layer-3, Supported

There is a dropdown for audio with those three listings which I assume is from the 3-layer audio in it (which may be why I am having so much trouble with audio).

If anyone knows how to fix these problems, let me know. Other than that, the DVD (which I recorded before I realized the audio was messed up) looked pretty good.

BTW, I'd also like to record this in 16:9 as I noticed after the fact that the avi was in that ratio as well. Is there anything special I need to know about doing this? The guide seemed to indicate it was for "advanced users" and this is really my first time doing this. But other than that, it didn't say much. Do I just need to set the aspect ratio to that or is there more to it?
