I have been using convertxtodvd 2.2.3.258 for some time now with success and all of the sudden i have been receiving this error. "Write error at 16(16) - Code 05 21 02[Illegal request, invalid address for write]. Once in a blue moon I get a good write but they are few and far between. I have tried pretty much everything to no avail. I made NO changes to the settings and this just started happening. Any advice would be great. Thanks. Paul

Try updating your firmware, current version according to rpc1 is RL01 http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=2362 What brand discs are you using? You can also edit your post when it is the last one in a thread, no need to keep bumping.
I updated my firmware and it did no good. Iam still getting the same message? I use memorex +R's. I have been using them for years with no problems. Iam stumped. I bruned some data dvds and they work fine? Any help would be splendid. Thanks. Paul
Try another brand of discs...Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden. Try another program...DVD Flick (free), here is a guide: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/552742 You might also try manually burning your folder with Imgburn in build mode.
Your using the old version, try using the new version v3.1.3b Maybe your drive is in PIO mode instead of DMA. Try reinstalling the drive.
Don't use ConvertX to burn, set it to save as files. Get ImgBurn and use the 'Build' option to burn the files. This will help to dertermine where the problem lies. I always do this anyway as I like to quick check the conversion before committing to disc anyway.
I would really like to get convertx working again. Like I said I have been using Memorex for years now with no problems. My drive is set to DMA. This problem just started happening with no changes made? The video appears to me converted fine, its just the burning that seems to be screwing up. Has any one eles gotten this error, and was it able to be fixed? I tried upgrading to the latest version of convertx and it produced the same error.
Ok ran into something a little strange. I tried Convertx again and it produced the error code mentioned above. I reinserted the disk and tried the "burn existing DVD" option and it worked? This has been happening, I get the error code and i just keep doing the burn existing dvd option and eventually it works. I use the same DVD that it spits out when the error occurs. Some time it takes several tried before it works, But most of the time it will eventually works. Could this be a sign that my drive is petering out?
[/quote] How will this determine where the problem lies? I got ImageBurn and dont understand how it would. Any help? Sorry for my confusion, darn holiday travel is beating the tar outta me. lol Thanks for the advice.
Hi, I only use Taiyo Yuden & Verbatim media (1st Class), and burn at x4.0 I get 100% results with all VSO Software (Burning). If you use DVD-R media, enable SAO (Session At Once).
