Please can somebody tell me if it will work with my motherbard. Thanks
No, this board does not support 6 core CPUs. The clue is in the 'CPU support' button on the top right.
The board is AM3 compatible, but it is not an AM3 board...and the hex cores need AM3; not just "AM3 compatible". Too bad...without the cheap upgrade path, there isn't much market for these chips.

crosshair IV Formula motherboard. heard mixed reviews but if it's half as good as my CH III formula then it's godly lol.(aka a high end completely unlocked motherboard with overclocking options to boot)
been using asus for every build i've done save one and i'm never touching msi pos(it lived for 3 days and they wouldn't let me rma it) again. and this crosshair III has been going for about a year and a half now with no problems, i'm determined that the only reason people think ASUS products are junk is due to user error. and actually only a handful of asus products have actually been bad, ofcourse when the world comes to expect perfection from u a couple of bad products can ruin your image.
Then clearly you were doing it wrong. Voiding the warranty on a motherboard doesn't just happen by itself The only reason people think Asus products are junk is because they are. Not one of the six Asus products I've owned I could get past the 18 month mark. As soon as I ditched them for stuff that's actually built properly, no problems. Asus used to make good stuff in the old days, so if your PC is quite old that may explain why you think Asus still make decent products. Buy anything from them made in the last 4 years though and expect nothing but trouble from it.
warrauntee wasn't voided, they've been "inspecting and seeing if it can be repaired or needs replaced" for the past 3 years. i know asus support isn't exactly good, but honestly that edited by ddp that MSI pulled is plain illegal.
I'll warn you right there, language like that isn't allowed by aD forum rules. Did you not think to call/email them and find out what was going on?
Sorry i missed the cpu support button for some stupid reason, it actually does say its supported if you scroll down a page, it has been supported since bios version F7G
