CPU at 100% when playing generals!!!!!!

    Athlon 2600+
    514 Mb DDR400
    ATI GeForce2MX

    Should I be having troubles running that game?
    When it starts to get busy in the game the I lose sound quality and the game slows down.

    Any ideas?
