Hi Guy's, i have been on my PC (one i'm on now) for about 3 hours but the processor isn't getting that hot. i dont have water cooling on this machine as its just my secondary gaming PC if this fails. i dont have any case fans and the cpu fan is not working. the processor isnt going past 32 degree's celsius and does change even when i turn it off and go into the bios to watch the temp, it stays around 32/33 which is abnormal for a pc like this.. these specs are: Straight from DXDIAG Time of this report: 9/9/2008, 20:04:38 Machine name: Glow Operating System: Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 2 (2600.xpsp_sp2_gdr.070227-2254) Language: English (Regional Setting: English) System Manufacturer: XFX System Model: nForce 790 3 way SLI Motherboard BIOS: Default System BIOS Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.00GHz (2 CPUs) Memory: 1022MB RAM Page File: 19MB used, 80234MB available Windows Dir: C:\WINDOWS DirectX Version: DirectX 10.0 (4.10.0000.6000) DX Setup Parameters: Not found DxDiag Version: 5.03.2600.2180 32bit Unicode Card name: NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT CPU is just multi threaded and yes that is DX10 for XP doesnt seem like anything is majorly wrong but im just curious why its own cooling seems to be sufficient thanks alot
Abnormal? Idle temps of 33C for a P4 are excellent, they're hot running chips. edit: Oh I see. Could be due to better than average case ventilation. P4s were usually used in stuffy small cases with single 80mm fans...
but didn't saif that his cpu fan doesn't work? or did i mis-read? and yeah 33degrees is pretty good to be honest
yeah my CPU fan is not working till i buy another, its just that when i am writing programs and compiling them as its just logical use then CPU should raise in temp.... maybe i guess Intel just build super quality chips.
