Creating Ringtones

    I just bought a Verizon LG Voyager cell phone. I was wondering if there is any free software or software that i can purchase to convert mp3's into ringtones. What format is used for this phone? Finally, how do I transfer my ringtone to my phone? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

    When I was on Windows I used the LAME MP3 encoder to convert an MP3 into a WAV file.

    Then I used the Microsoft sound recorder from the accessories folder of the start meno to cut out the part I wanted using the clip options in the menubar.

    I then used LAME to convert the slice back into an MP3.

    It looks like the LG Voyager can utilize MP3 sounds.
