I just tried to use DVD X Platinum and it is the latest version.....I got an error message saying that this copy of DVD X does not css encrypted whatever......what can I do???? I just purcahsed the software from DVD Solutions and it came in an original box, appears legit, received updated activation procedures via email after I was unable to activate when I first got it.....I have since activated it and have yet to be able to get past the css error massages......HELP!!! Thanks
You only need DVD Decrypter to "decrypt or crack" the encrypted protection codes and CSS. DVD Decrypter works flawlessly and it's "free", so I recommend you to get it while it still available here at afterdawn.com. Once you've "decrypted" and read the movie into your hard drive, you need to shrink or compress with either (a) DVD Shrink, (b) any of your prefer shrinking programs. Then you can back up the movie with DVD Decrypter again or any programs of your preferences.
Are you saying that DVD Platinum is no good for getting around css encryption? What good is DVD X Copy Platinum if I can't burn movies and DVD's that are encrypted???? Thanks for the reply, I will try it.
I had this problem when I first installed/activated on a new computer. Make sure your drive(s) is set to region 1 (that is if you are in US/Canada) or appropriate region. Properties/DvdRegion XCopy Platinum won't do the newer Sony movies.
Your drive or newer Sony movies? Your drive should be set to region 1. Question: I don't have the Ripper Free version of Platinum, yet I'm getting CSS encryption errors. Answer: This error occurs when the Region setting for your burner is incorrect. Here are the steps to take: 1. Go to My Computer. 2. Right-click on your burner's Icon, then click Properties. 3. Go to the Hardware tab, then highlight your burner and click Properties at the bottom of the page. 4. Go to the DVD Region tab. At the bottom of this page, your Current Region should be listed. If the Current Region is incorrect, follow the on-screen instructions to correct it. If you are not sure what Region Code you should be using, contact your DVD player's manufacturer. BTW There is a DvdXCopy Forum: http://dvdxcopy.afterdawn.com/
@noepop77, Seriously, I don't know much about DVD X Copy Platinum due to the fact that I've never use it before. However, a couple of my friends, whom owned/has that program said it's giving them hard times just like it did it to you. I told them to get DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink, now they're pretty much more than happy to have these 2 greatest DVD backing up combo programs (the good thing is...they're FREE..) and all of them "never" look back on DVD X Copy or Platinum. Additionally, I know for sure that DVD Decrypter still live it up to its notorious name -- it will "decrypt" and "bypass" or crack any of the new release dvd movies beautifully. As a matter of fact, I've just did it with "Hitch, Are We There Yet, Coach Carter, Hostage, Million Dollar Baby" and it works flawlessly. In addition, a few other good cracking programs are DVDIdle Pro (retail), AnyDVD (retail), DVD Region+CSS Free (retail) and DVD43 (free). These programs will run in the background to "crack/decrypt and bypass" the protection/copyrighted while you're ripping or backing up the movie. I, myself, have used DVDIdle Pro and DVD43 with InterVideo DVD Copy 3, Nero Recode 2 and it has been doing a fantastic job cracking encrypted protection codes smoothly for me. The choice is yours to make, either get DVD Decrypter (while it still available here at afterdawn.com) and DVD Shrink (yes... both are FREE and a must have), or getting more "coasters" with what you're using[paying] and not getting the job done. Here is a simple and basic steps to back up DVD movie, using DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink on a DVD5 disc(single layer), assuming you already have the latest from Decrypter & Shrink: ** put blank dvd in your dvd burner (please use good media such as Fuji/Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim, Maxell or Sony) ** put original dvd in dvd rom drive ** open up your “c: drive” or “hard drive”, go to NEW, Folder, name it “NEWBACKUPMOVIE” or anything you want, then hit [enter] to save the Folder, then EXIT ** open up DVD Decrypter, go to MODE, ISO, READ R ** choose your "SOURCE" <-- your DVD-ROM drive with Original movie ** choose your "Destination" <-- browse to your “hard drive” with your newly created folder earlier; example: NEWBACKUPMOVIE, then click on OPEN, and SAVE ** now click on “DECRYPT”, wait until it's completed, and closed DVD Decrypter (this takes about 15 - 20 mins or depending on your computer specs) ** open up DVD Shrink, go to FILE, Open Disc Image, and browse to your ISO you created with DVD Decrypter (NEWBACKUPMOVIE) in your hard drive, and OPEN it ** DVD Shrink should do a quick "Analysis" now.... wait until it's completed ** NOTE: if you want super quality and just the main movie only without the extras and menu, then you can click on "Re-author" mode, click on "main title 1" and drag it to drop under the "DVD Structure", then click on BACKUP, and OK **NOTE: if you want to do a “CUSTOM” on a DVD-R/+R disc, set your CUSTOM to “4350MB or 4400MB”, or to your desire, but don’t “exceed” a DVD-R/+R’s capacity, to do this, go to EDIT, then PREFERENCES, and set it up, then hit “OK” when you’re done. ** NOTE: if you want a "Full Disc Backup" with better quality, then you should set the "quality settings" to “Maximum Sharpness” or to your desire ** now click on BACKUP, on TARGET DEVICE, select “Backup Target to: ISO Image File and Burn with DVD Decrypter”, and on "select target image file": browse to your folder you created earlier “NEWBACKUPMOVIE” in your Hard Drive ** now hit “OK”, sit back, relax, go smoke, drink, or watch a movie on your TV, DVD Shrink will do the encoding, wait until it's completed (this takes anywhere from 20 - 35 mins depending on your computer specs) ** once Shrink is done, it should automatically back up with DVD Decrypter. ** that's it.... wait for Decrypter to finish the back up process and you're done (this takes about 7 - 10 mins depending on your computer specs). Hope this help you a little. Have fun burning!!!
Ever since I set the Region for the DVD writer, I have been able to burn every DVD I have put into the drive.......DVD X Copy Platinum is working perfectly, and the quality is as good as the original.
