I have a cust. PC that will not boot up. The machine is about 1.5 years old, and has been inconsistant at best. I have taken it to a repair shop about four or five times since having it assembled to repair various things. If anyone can offer advice on how ot solve this issue, it would be a great help. Another problem that I also have is the fact that computer only recognizes the processor as 1.8 ghz instead of the 2.4 it is. This happend after the last so-called "repair". It contains the following hardware; P4 2.4 Ghz processor Nvidia geforce 4 (5600 model I believe) 128 mb video card M Audio2496 sound card abit th7-2 raid motherboard 512 mb samsung rambus memory (pc900?) non-ecc sony dvdr/cd-rw combo drive 2 - seagate 40mb barracuda hard drives (not set in raid mode) Xoxide case with 5 fans (two intake, three exaust) Most recently I had the same problem and had to replace one of the hard drives and the motherboard (both under waranty)
I tried to change in the bios, but received an error message. I would try this again, but the machine will not boot up. Because of the number of problems I have had, is there a chance that some of the parts are not compatable?
disconnect all cards & ram except for videocard & 1 stick of ram. disconnect all cables to drives. reseat the power cable to motherboard, reseat the videocard & stick of ram. clear the cmos jumper according to motherboard manual.
I don't have the manual for the mobo, need help clearing the cmos jumper. I don't want to screw up anything.
