    Hello all,

I have two .avi's that are two parts of the same movie. I want to append one to the other but there is a slight replay of the same scene when I append it in virtualDub. Does anyone know how to cut these specific frames out with VD while appending?

you will need to cut and resave the avi that you want to shorten then use append make sure that the cut avi is the same compresion type bitrate etc or they wont join

The real question is how?...I've tried cutting the selected frames with VD then resaving the .avi. However, when I open the file again to check if it has been cut, it still shows the undesired frames.

load you original avi click on mark in where you want to start your new file advance thru your film untill you find the end of where you want to stop set mark out under video select full process under audio the same set up your video and audio compression the same as the orignal goto file and save as give your new avi a name and hit save then append your new avi to your second part

You can only cut on keyframes. If there is no keyframe where you want to cut. Try the other half. None there and you will need to re-encode that section.
