I love my Die Hard movies but have lately decided that I would like to edit out all the F bombs, etc. maybe even take 1/2 a second off a scene or two. I have decryptor and DVD Shrink and I think I saw an option on one of these programs but can't seem to locate it now. Do I need different software? What do you all recommend?

Being able to insert my own audio would be nice too, but not necessary

    Hi,

You can remove the bits that you find objectionable but it will be a bit tedious to do so. DVD Shrink has a Start/Stop feature that will allow you select the parts you want to keep and then put the remaining parts back together as a compilation. Here's a neat animated guide on how it goes:

Thanks. That helps with some scene cutting. Is there a way to just cut audio?

    D'oh!

I seem to have missed the target haven't I? Some reading comprehension coureses may be in order...............

Unfortunately I've no experience with cutting or replacing audio in a film so I'm very sorry to say that I cannot help you there :(

OK Let me suggest a possible solution to my problem, but I still need expert advice. If I can split a vob into video and wave audio, I can edit the wave with software that I already have. Can I do such a split then join video and edited audio back again? I know I would need to keep the edited audio the same length as before and I realize that there might be some interim conversions. I don't want to lose too much quality, however. Otherwise I'll just make a video tape using "MUTE" and go from there.
