I recently downloaded the firmware file onto a cd-r and put it in the recorder. Everything happened like it said on the cyberhome support site. But after it was over the machine turned off and would not come back on. I managed to get the disk out by taking it apart but it will still not power on. When I flip the switch on back the lights on front panel are very dim. I can hear the Dvd drive working but nothing else. Can I do something to get it working again? I have unplugged it and all that stuff but none of that works. You guys got any helpful advice?

sounds like a psu issue.. take the cover off and check the psu board for bulged and or leaky capacitors. if you find any replace them with same working voltage and retry. i've fixed another cyberhome dvdr this week with leaky caps. the bad cap issue has surfaced into these players/recorders also. just google bad caps for the horrid details these have called.
