I am still debating on the ILO or Cyberhome. The ILO is here: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=3610576 The Cyberhome is here: http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Cybe...20201/catOid/-12872/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do Both seem to have playback formats that will play on my portable dvd player. I have read good and bad reviews on both. I do need something cheap though. I mainly just want to be able to record some sitcoms, cartoons and such for the kids to watch on the road. I also might want to record a movie to save from time to time. Which of these two recorders would you advise I purchase if you had to pick one? I have already bought the cyberhome since this post and was wondering would I be better off taking it back and paying the $20 extra bucks for the ILO? I've not had any problems so far. Is the video/audio quality any better? Any advice would be great. Only had cyberhome 2 days and recorded 2 movies for the kids, and a few tv programs, and only have 1 coaster so far. One other question...After getting the unit home I was missing the a/v cables and the RF cable. I had some laying around. Are the A/V cables that come with the unit the same as any other A/V cables? I can't seem to get my unit to work unless I use S-Video Cable thats why I am asking.
Hi candy777, there are both the same, ILO is Walmart's brandname and Cyberhome provides Walmart with the Cyberhome 1600 to be put in the ILO r05. From what I understand is that the 1600 is better than the ILO r05. There's two versions of the ILO r05, the r05MU and r05ZU, stay away from the ZU, nothing but trouble, the MU is much better. In 2004, Liteon supplied Walmart's r04 and HD04, wayyy better units, you might want to look for a Liteon model such as the 5005 or 5006. As for the A/V cables, there all the same, some with better gauge but in essence will do the job. As you already have S-Video, keep it, better picture than the ordinary A/V cables, just use the audio part of the A/V cable in combination with the S-Video of course. Cheers CrazyCanuck
Take a look at the Cyberhome 1200. Its the same as the 05 MU or Cyberhome 1600 It is less money ( about $25) It has everything but the DV input, The electronis are there but no cable or input jack (go figure) The Dv is for a cam corder etc. I don't use it. MalMart sells these also You said movies (or Tapes) They all will record unless they are copy protected. you will need a different unit fo CP. I hsve Two -- ilo RHD04 One -- Cyperhome 1200
