    Hey Guys,

So I finally did it, purchased a CycloDS for my nintendo DS lite.. I am so excited mainly to be able to save all my games to a MicroSD and never have to swap games again!

Now the thing I am worried about and didn't think about when I made my purchase. The games that I transfer over from the original cart, am I able to transfer over the actual real save file? Or do I have to start every game from scratch :S

Sorry of this has been asked, I tried searching but didn't see any thread for this actual flashcart only the M4 or whatever. Thanks!

    1. Yes this has been asked.

    2. If your save files have the .sav extension, they can come across directly. I brought all my save files across froman Original R4 and EZ Flash V with no conversion. If you are converting from aG6Real you will have to rename from .r0 to .sav

I'm pretty sure he means the real nintendo game carts, not a different flashcart. And I did once see a USB to DS cart adapter that claimed to be able to extract the save games from official DS games, but I dont know if it used any special software or anything.

And the G6 uses standard .sav extensions now, but it did used to have .0 and .1 (for separate save slot management)

Penguin, you are correct and I had my "speed reading" glasses on.

@Ogrillon, there is a different thread about backing up saves from original carts.

My apologies I though you were asking about flashcart saves.

Backing up saves from original carts is possible, but takes a little doing.

Np, I did see that thread but it was in regards to the M3 or whatever, not familar with all the different flash carts out there - is it the same process for the one I purchased to?

I am hoping that it isn't to big of a deal would defeat the purchase if I had to restart all my saves lol oh well.. Only one that I guess matters is chrono trigger lol.

I wasn't sure if someone had the one I purchased and used it, I read the online guide from the manufactor and they claimed you can hook your DS wirelessly to your PC and transfer the game files, and lead me to believe the save files - just wanted to double check from someone who maybe did this first hand.

Either way I am so excited to mess with this thing, hoping it comes by tomorrow. All the different homebrew apps are awesome :) I just gotta browse all the threads :D

I own a CycloDS and I'm not familiar with the wireless feature that you speak of. I'll take a look later today and see what I can find out.

I am not sure if this is ok or not, but I did find the information I was asking on cycloDS forums. http://www.teamcyclops.com/forum/showthread.php?t=492

Anyways it does use the wireless function, and 2 applications. Doesn't sound all that painful, so anyways sorry if this was asked before, I know that is annoying I just couldn't find anything specific for my cart. However I guess according to the guide you can follow the same directions as R4 :D

"I know that is annoying I just couldn't find anything specific for my cart."

????? The appear to be instructions specifically for the CycloDS.

    "You Will Need

Your CycloDS Evolution and microSD. "

In your first post you said that you had a CycloDS. I read it three time to make sure I didn't miss anything.

Not quite sure if you're making an observation or still asking a question.

Woot, I am so freakin excited lol. You happy with yours? I am hoping its in my mailbox when I get home from work today. I am just so excited about the thought of not having to switch out games, usually don't have room in my case to take all of them!

Any must have homebrew stuff you like? How is like the DS organizer? I got the 2gig memory card, maybe I should have gotten a bigger one lol!

I think I will be buying another DS for my wife, I just bought her that cooking trainer game, and she hates when I take my ds to work now =/ Probably end up buying a second cyclods lol.

I am using a Kingston 8GB card and now there's no more "juggling" games. I am very happy with the Cyclo, the additional bells and whistles make it worth the extra money. If you look at the several threads from people trying to "go it on the cheap", you'll see that they're not really saving money unless the value of their time is nil.

Yeah, I kinda viewed it the same way.. I learned in life, most cases cheaper is not always better.

I just checked the confirmation its sitting in my mailbox :)) I am impressed with newhotstuff.com .. that name of the websites a little odd but I ordered it on monday around like 10AM and it was shipped by 1pm and at my house by wednesday =D

I just can't wait for the ingame text viewer, going to be amazing to keep a strat guide and view it from within the DS!! What a good idea! I tend to hate using guides for games, I feel it spoils it for me but sometimes you need one for like goofy things. Woohoo going to be a long day @ work :(
