I've been using D2MP to convert .avi files to dvd with burned-in subs.
Lately every attempt gets "Subtitle file: filename.SRT not found" error in the log even though the correctly named .srt file is in the same folder as the .avi file and the subs show with software players.

The weird thing is, the program creates an srt.style file and copies it and the .srt file to the output directory. It just doesn't add the subtitles to the .mpg file during multiplexing.

I've tried uninstalling, reinstalling, D2MP and ffdshow and vobsub and messing with configs, but nothing works. I could multiplex the files and add removable subs using DvdAuthorGui but the reason I'm doing hard subs is because the removables have a playback problem on my DVD
stand-alone players(new subs dissolve what's on screen instead
of creating legible subtitles... looks like powdered sugar instead
    of text.)

Has anyone run into a solution for this?
I've gotten some Google hits but nothing in English
    so I can't find a fix.

I think I may have found it. I uninstalled the app and deleted the d2mp folder in Program Files. Then I did a complete reinstall accepting the defaults. I'm doing a test conversion now and I didn't get the "subtitle file not found" error in the log. So far so good.
