Just been sent a ratDVD by a family member, downloaded the program from the usual sources, installed it, tried to run it... ...and it instantly falls on its arse! Wha!?! Seeing as there's no official support for ratDVD, can someone please tell me what the heck is going on?? Any help, please? I know I'm not the brightest bloke on the planet but I'm surely not the dumbest. And a popular program like this shouldn't be this stubborn to run... all the best...
You'd have thought so, wouldn't you? However, get this. Decided, just for a giggle while round a mate's house (professional IT guy, always handy to have one around), to install it on his machine and see what happened. Thought it was a risk (hey, neither of us had heard of ratDVD before, there's no real official page for it and it might have been a jumped up virus / trojan delivery system. That's what you think when you see an executable download in 2007 - you're only paranoid when they're not out to get you...). So, guess what happened? Installed it. Ran it. Worked fine. Burned the files to DVD. Uninstalled it (well, it's not like he was going to use it again). And... rest. So, I'm resigning myself to one of two facts: my computer is actually a steaming pile of turd to which I should stop wasting my time and efforts on, or: ratDVD is a steaming pile of yaddd yadda yadda. Guess which one I'm plumping for. all the best... 'kaydeege
