.dat files to dvd out of sync after converting

i'm using divxtodvd and when i try to encode a .dat file to dvd the sound goes out of sync later in the movie. the program works great when i'm doin mpeg to dvd and avi to dvd but not .dat, so is there another prog that i can use to stop it from goin out of sync?

 

so i was wondering if anybody found a solution to the problem lemme know if u get it
