i have been recenrtly having lots of fails while burning data dvds for my divX dvd player. so can anyone please suggest good data dvd programs? please dont suggest Nero, or VSO software. thanks guys
nope, i elimanted VSO becasue it will not allow any burning below x6!! which is pointless and nero becasue my i only have 512mb ram. thus meaning it takes about 1hour 40 to burn a 4.2gb of data to DVD
first off ...... the burning speeds of the disk sets the programs' burning speeds. So if you put in a blank DVD into the drive and VSO will only burn to 6x that is because of the disk...... I have VSO and I only use Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim disks, 8x or 16x disk speeds.... I get all available write speed in the programs...... look to your disk ..... if your disk has only 6x and up then that is the only available write speed for that particular disk! It's not the program's fault! second...... if you have only 512MB of RAM and it take and hour and 40 mins...... you're doing good! The program is just one item that determines speed ....... I would rather have a properly written disk than try to break the speed record! hahahahahahaha And just because a disk can go 16x does it mean you should burn at that speed? All depends upon your system, and what you play your disks on..... don't forget..... you want to keep these disks as long as possible... maybe outlasting your player!!! what happens if your New Player doesn't like the media or the write speeds that you burned your disk to? Keep that in mind every time you burn a disk! Otherwise you are doomed to do it all over again!
ermmmmmm? i don't think you understand... i want LESS than x6. to insure a safe and good lasting burn. its a shame VSO cannot determine this. so yes it IS the programs fault. you are mistaken. my discs are 1x-16x so therefore VSO should make at least x4 speed available for me but they do not. i wont be using it. and to nero? i wont be waiting that long for nero to burn. i have had terrible results with burning ISO's with nero, taking a very long time and then they still dont work. and the same with data discs. let me refer you to my actual question please..... i want some OTHER software suggestions. Thank you
wow, IHoe, how did you manage to get confused about a 39 word question? :| I could understand if he'd gone on about a bit, but 39 words... And no, Nero taking 1 hour 40 minutes is not good for his spec, nero is inefficient and the only reason it is so popular is because through clever negotiations with hardware manufacturers it is bundled with the majority of DVD/CD writers!
ok....... you want other programs.... fine...... but understand that it's not the PROGRAM'S FAULT if your drive only RECOGNIZES your DISK being used to only have write stratigies to burn THAT PARTICULAR DISK at 6x or higher! Anyway..... if you are burning a 16x disk you should burn at half the rated speed of that disk..... which is 8x! The program will only write as fast as the disk is recognized by the burner and has write strategies for that particular disk.... AND THEREFORE it is not the programs fault. If you can't understand that then no one can help you! but go a head and use other programs. fine.
Then why does Nero, the eternal procrastinator, allow him to write at 1, 2 or 4x then? If it's all the disk's fault...
why attempt to help me if all you can do is get angry because i dont use your choice of software. and as the person above me states, yes with my x16 discs in nero i can burn at any speed i like. so how exactly is it the disks fault?
