    hi,

i got a box and have successfully flashed commando 6 onto it. i have tried commando 3, neutrino and sportster images, every time i have done a search no channels come up.

the box finds 303 transponders then goes through 1/303, 2/303, 3/303. but always comes up "no channels found" is there any settings i can change that may help. i am using bruteforce uk?

    any help is much appreciated

you may want to check your signal..

if you go to any channel

press the red button on the remote then the blue button to get the stream information, you need to check the three values, and please post the values here.

your BER is very hight, it should be as low as possible - on mine my BER is between 30-40

the other two values should be as high as possible

seems you have a signal issue from your cable feed.

you could try buying one of them digital signal booster (about £10 from Argos)

    ok,

i'm using commander 6, with ucode oo1a, the provider was on bruteforce but has resorted back to kabel deutschland and i have no idea how to get that back and cant change it.
i've been reading that i need to put some kind of cables.xml file onto it, but for that i need a dbox manager software, which i cant find the d/l for anywhere. i have the files but nothing specific for the tayside area??

if Commando 6 you first need to set your location (area) then do a full scan using Bruteforce UK with fast scan off

however if you are having signal issues, it wont pick up any channels

I had the excact same problem as you when I, just for fun, flashed the latest German Yada image (both Neutrino and Enigma versions).. Reading your post is like deja vu..
Scanned for channels using bruteforce, fast scan off etc etc, still found no channels..
In the end I just flashed another image, scanned again and found all (even PPV)..
I can't explain why it seems some images just work whereas others don't, I want to research more to find out why though..
For your case, I think if I were you I'd just reflash another image. If your Dbox2 has 2 chips, try flashing this Sportster image, which is what I use and has never let me down in anyway..

If you have an image flashed already (in other words, you don't have Kein System), you can just ftp a new image to the /tmp directory. The username for the dbox is root and the password is usually either dbox or dbox2. If you want to try keeping your existing image, you can get the UK cable options by replacing the German cables.xml with the UK version. If you need it, click here: http://www.ifawilson.com/downloads/Dbox/cables.xml
You may also need the scan.conf, which is here:
    http://www.ifawilson.com/downloads/Dbox/scan.conf
If you do use the scan.conf, it's important that after you transfer to the Dbox2 you reboot it by unplugging it from the mains - not by powering it down by the remote control. The latter would result in the scan.conf you just transfered being replaced by the original.

i have those cable.xml on cd already, but i dont know what to do with them,i know it sounds stupid, but i really havent a clue. http://www.ifawilson.com/downloads/Dbox/scan.conf seems not to work either, the page is just frozen, but i think it mite be my comp.i cant even download the ftp .after turning off all firewalls and anti viruses,it still says my security settings will not permit download.id say i should just give up this.

Have a look through the vents in the top of the Dbox2, see how many of the larger chips you can see. They're quite close together, and you'll see either 1 or 2..

Another way to be absolutely sure, is to make a backup of your existing image using the remote control, transfer this via ftp to your PC, then open IFA and select this image to flash back to your Dbox2. You don't actually have to flash it back, but just by selecting the image it will tell you whether it's 1x or 2x. At this point you can just cancel the flashing..
