Dead hard drive? error 07 & 16

    I'm getting errors 07 & 16 so i think the hard drive is bad.
    can I replace the hard drive with out have to buy an mother board to?
    or do i have to buy an mod chip. if so what one should i get. I don't want to spend to much.

    I tried taking it apart and checking the connections but i still get the errors. i don't mind soldering.

    I was reading about some way to read the locking password from the motherboard. any one know any thing about this?

    yeah, desolder your eeprom off of the motherboard and put it on a stick or ram... but easiest way is to get a modchip and put in about a 300 gig hard drive or so...
