I'm searching for a program to seperate video and audio streams from mpeg 2 files. I've experimented with several but the end result have been without audio. I can burn them to dvd and they play however with just the video. I would appreciate any guidence in this area. Maybe some links to how to preform this dubious operation. thanks in advance.

Sorry, I don't understand. Witi 'MPEG-2' you mean .M2V (no audio), .VOB (authored mpeg-2 DVD) or SVCD .MPG files?
This because, for example, TMPGenc doesn't join audio with video, but the audio streams (WAV, AC3 , else) are 'authored' later to the DVD.
If you made the MPEG-2 from some AVI, you should easily have the streams (apart the need to change its sample rate 44.1 kHz --> 48 kHz), and TMPGenc's output is M2V+WAV.
