default getaway

    my default getaway number is the same as my dns number I have 4 the same numbers! How the f#^&k am I suppose to create a static Ip addres?

    Go to start->Ruun->Type "cmd"->Then type in the black box "ipconfig/all" and your DNS Server addresses should be listed. If not, just call your ISP and ask them what they are. That should do it.

    i did do what you wanted me to do but my default getaway is the same as the dns also I called my nternet provider(dsl) and they told me that i don;t need s static ip and did't give me the dns.

    Here is a link with some common DNS servers:
    Maybe you can find one for your part of the world that will work for you: http://www.portforward.com/networking/dns.htm

    I'd try your ISP again. They told you you don't need a static ip but you should tell them they don't know what you need. If it's not considered TOP SECRET info, they should give it to you. If they refuse, I guess theres not much you can do i nthat case.

    Yep, but does that mean you got it to work or is it a work still in progress?

    I did put all the data in my static ip address and the dns connects me to the internet so it works but my port forwording still doesn't work, and all of that was so I can port forward bittornado.

    Well, I use BitTrnado so maybe I can help you out. The best thing to do is pick some ports (random) create a range and open them to be forwarded to your router. The default ones are not a must. What is the make and model of your router?
