Deleting channels on NTL/UPC Mediabox

I've recently signed up to UPC/NTL Digital+ in Dublin. However, there are a pile of channels that we will simply never watch. So my question is can I delete them so that I don't have to surf through them? If so, how? The guide doesn't give me any clues.

I'm pretty sure you can't delete channels but you can set up favourite channels so you never have to see the channels you don't watch.

I think it is in tv guide->favourites->settings

 

aye set favs or you can block chans via the menu
