    Hey

My buddy has a dell dimension 3100 and just bought a pci nvidia 6200 graphics card. Plug it in -- and the machine doesn't get any power. Tested it back at the workshop and its definately NOT dead, so my only other thought was the power supply being too weak.
Would I most likely be correct in this assumption?

even before getting a new graphics card, a new power supply in a prebuilt is a must. something like the antec earthwatts 380 will power the system easily.

brand name is important when choosing a power supply.
