I just got and old dell 4500. its has four users with four different passwords to click to login.
I did the reset for clearing forgotten password. I'm able to get the Winxp screen to come up with four username. I cannot get pass this. I did the shut down of the computer and open the computer to "clear" the password with the jumper plug so that pins 2 and 3 are jumpered to clear the password. then I access the system setup program and assign a new supervisor password in the Maintenance menu. Exit and save then booted back up. then move the jumpers back to the "normal" setting pins 1 and 2 are jumpered. What am I missing?

The CMOS password that you cleared with the motherboard jumper has NOTHING to do with the Windows user account passwords.

You should login as administrator and reset the passwords of the 4 user accounts. If you do not have the Windows Administrator password, I recall that there is a website out there with the .iso of a CD that you can burn (boots into Linux) and resets the Admin password.

I know this thread is few months old and brought back.

I have used these in the past:
Password Reset (I don't think it is sold anymore - Cousin gave me the floppy - He has a computer company)

Winternals ERD Commander 2005 ( No longer sold - Might know someone that has it)

Spotmau Power Suite 2007 (It is still sold - Probably newer version 2009?)

    Burn On,
    Russell

PS. I have used all 3; Either helping my cousin work on customer's pcs/friends and family at home. The secound 2 have lots of other features. Software is expensive; You have figure out if it's worth it for your needs.
