dell dimension 4550 help please

    hello.... can anyone help me with a few issues with my dell dimension 4550 ,1st problem is ,that everything on it worked perfect till i moved home and set up another internet network provider at my new home,when i plug it into the internet now .all it says is (cant find network card etc) ,but i know there must be one in the pc as it worked at my old address,ive also tried to run it wireless, but it just comes up saying the same thing(cant find network card etc) i know the internet to my home is working ok as im running a laptop wireless and that works ok, can anyone please tell me what im doing wrong and how do i set it up please.and also does this dell dimension have a wireless network card in the tower as standard,ile be very greatful for any help thank you

    First, check your device manager to make sure you network adapter works is listed and does not have any yellow or red marks next to it. If everything is fine there, right click on "network" on the desktop, click properties, then "manage network connections"...make sure the "local area connection" is enabled and has no red or yellow marks next to it.

    As for the built-in WLAN, it is an optional upgrade on just about every dell made.

    Wouldn't hurt to open up that case and make sure everything is seated tight and secured in place. It's possible that over the move something came out as the computer was bumped around.
