When i burn a regular dvd on dvdxcopy platinum i go to play the dvd in my computer or dvd player and it wont play. I then try to burn it on a dvdrw and it works on my computer. My dvdrw drive is a gca-4040n...can anyone help
With th limited info you've given it could be burn speed. DVD+/-RW media is 2.4x, your DVD+/-R media could be 4X. Not-so-good media gets cranky at higher burn speeds. Lotsa other stuff could be your problem though.
I have windows xp. It is a brand new computer, this is the second program that I have put on the computer. I have also tried three different cd brands to see if they are the problem. Didnt seem like that was it. It is less than thirty days old.
djmalcom: Have all updates been applied to your XP? (which version XP) Are you "ripping" and burning on the same drive, or are you using a DVD Rom as a source. I just did a quick search on your dvd drive and it seems alot of people are trying to find firmware updates for the unit, although I did'nt read into it far enough to find out why. ALSO: What's the processor speed and how much RAM is in this "new" box. I'm not trying to bust your stones, we just need more info to try & help.
I have all updates installed for xp. it has 512 for memory. I have tried five different brands that they sell at best buy as far as dvdr's go
Give a DVD a spin through DVD Shrink and save the files. Get the 30 day demo of Nero 6 Ultra (just the burning rom part, part 1, http://nero.com/us/nero6-ultraedition.php ) and try burning a copy. Use DVD-Video in Nero to burn, not ISO. See if Nero recognizes your burner by Brand and/or Model Number. Changing your software will start the isolation process. I doubt if it is your DVD media. I own X Copy, Express and Platinum. All 3 can get real crazy with you. later-
djmalcom Check the add/remove programs to see if you have conflicting software. Interactual player DLA Drag to disk Easy cd creator 4.0 PC freindly There are others but these are the most common. If you have any of these, they must be removed. After they are removed try another burn, it should work fine. Oh, 1 more thing, when playing movies on the pc. 321Studios recommends Cyberlinks Power DVD or WIN DVD. Thank you very much.
