The laptop's model is Latitude 110L. I'm not saying the power cable broke or even the little power brick thing attached to the cable. I'm talking about the thing on the laptop that the cable plugs into. I have to adjust the cable very precisely to get power on the laptop. It's not the cable by the way, so please don't post saying to try a new one. I've been through three cables so far so I can confidently say that that's not the problem. I think something may be going wrong internally.

Anyway, my main question is this:
Is there a way I can fix this myself? If so, how?

I don't really want to take it in because I'll probably get charged a fortune.

Even if you can't exactly answer the question, any post (aside from 'get a new cable' or anything along those lines) will be welcomed and greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance :)
