dell ssd

    i bought a dell mini the other day for parts.
    BUT the only thing wrong is the ssd it has a password. ived ordered another one cos i might as well sell it as throw it in the store for bits,#
    does anyone have any ideas how to remove the password?
    the original owner has no idea what it was

    try connecting that drive to your pc if have sata to see if can access the drive & see if 2nd partition for recovery.

    Why don't you just format the SSD HDD? and do a clean install of the OS.
    It deletes all passwords.

    It won't format it won't go past asking for password tried lots of things
    it does'nt fit the normal sata it looks more like a small wireless card

    is that 1 of those 1.5" drives & very thin?

    i have a customer who has a laptop with that type of drive.

    If you have a USB CD drive, try downloading dban(burn it to a cdr) and boot from the disc. It will give you the option of formatting the drive and removing all data from it(including password protected drives)http://www.dban.org/

    yes about25mm x 50 new one arriving any day now
    will try dban and get back :)
