Hey, pretty annoyed because my main workstation ain't workin...

It won't boot to BIOS and just turns on with fans at max then turns off.

I have tried resetting CMOS but nothing happened.

    My Specs:

    DELL XPS 600
    500GB Hard drive
    Dual NVIDIA 7800 GTX SLi
Dual Intel Xeon Extreme 3.42 GHz
Motherboard is an nForce 4 SLI X16 Intel.

This is my first time experiencing this problem so what do you think is probably wrong?

I also urgently need access to the files on the hard drive, I have a DELL Inspiron 1520 which I am now using, is there any way I can access the files on the hard drive from my laptop too?

    Thank you,

    Xoft

disconnect all cables to drives. remove all cards & ram except for videocard & 1 stick of ram, reseat those 2. look at the silver flat topped can shaped objects on the motherboard which are capacitors & make certain they are not domed or leaking brown stuff. try another psu to motherboard only to see if post or not.

I tried all of that and everything on DELL Support but got nothing. A few of the capacitors do have black/ dark brown stuff on their heads though, does this means the motherboard is broken?

I just read up on this and it looks like it's a pretty common failure...

Anyone know where to find cards suitable for my setup? Do all motherboards come in generally the same size? Could I find a board that matches the same shape and card placement as my old one?

    Thanks.

Thank you for the replies :) I have found a replacement... but only on the US site, and I live in the UK.

So now I am looking for a new case and motherboard. I don't care what it looks like but I'd prefer it be on the cheap side, I've tried looking on motherboard finders and other things and can't seem to find much for my system...

I need anything that will support:

2 NVIDIA 7800 GTX cards in SLi
    Intel Pentium D extreme @ 3.42
    and a Creative Sound Blaster

    Thanks
