hi i was wondring obout this pc i whant to know the complete specs of this computer like the brand so in the site tells you like 6gb trichannel but i whant to know the brand and if its cross air dominator and also like they dont tell you what motherboard it is using and what power supply all that stuf and if its a good gaming pc also im looking into alienware to see what is better thats why i whant to know! thnxs
Wow, slow down man, and try using some punctuation... The memory in Dell systems is basic OEM stuff, it certainly won't be enthusiast grade like Corsair Dominator. Dell make their own motherboards, which is why they don't tell you what they use as they're specific to a particular Dell Model or range. The Power supply is also unique to Dells, and not only in construction, but also in shape, which makes upgrading very diffcult. However, the main problem with the system is how it's planned out, hardware wise. It uses two powerful, but older Radeon HD3870X2 graphics cards, which while at maximum capacity can outperform a Geforce GTX280, in most games they won't even surpass the $150 HD4850 - for a multi-thousand dollar system, that's terrible. If they've upgraded it to HD4870X2s (note the subtle naming difference) it would make for an astonishing PC, but in its original specification, that alone is enough to warrant avoiding it.
oh ok =) thnxs for the info so im looking to buy a gaming pc this is one of my first opcion what do u recomend me to buy and what is better the sli gtx280 or one ati radeon 4780x2 i have also that consern i also into building one but im not so sure what to buy
Building a PC isn't hard, but also isn't something to be taken lightly, think carefully about the process. As far as video cards go, one HD4870X2 and two GTX280s aren't really in the same league, as in the US, it's $500 vs $700, and in the UK, an even bigger difference - £350 vs £600. The performance isn't too far apart between them, in the games that matter, the GTX280 SLI combination never gets more than about 30% ahead, but two HD4870X2s in Crossfire X can be tricky as they don't scale in very many games. Also, for the record, none of this is necessary on anything but a 30" monitor at 2560x1600. If you're using any smaller monitor, or any HDTV, regardless of size, one HD4870X2 will be plenty.
do u think is worthit to buy a dell xps or is it better to buy the harware separetly and built it yourself the only consern im having about building the pc is i know how to build one but i only dont know how to conect the front usb audio and start buttons and i am afraid that i will burn something also how to know if the parts im buying are compatible one another
We can give you a parts list here that will be compatible, so don't worry about that. Connecting the front panel cables is easy as long as you read the motherboard manual carefully. On a PC of this scale you could save as much as a thousand dollars by building the system yourself if not more.
Antec Twelve Hundred case Intel Core i7 920 2.66GHz x 4 with HyperThreading 4.8GT/s FSB 8MB cache EVGA X58 (Intel X58+ICH10R) 6GB Triple-channel Corsair Dominator: 3 x 2048MB DDR3 1600MHz Western Digital Velociraptor 150GB 16MB 10000RPM SATA2 Radeon HD 4870 X2 2GB Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium FATAL1TY PCI-E 7.1 Corsair HX1000 1000W modular Active PFC this is what i want to have in my pc id almost the same configuration as in the xps do u think this i compatible and easy to find also talking about warrantis ans quality of the components what do u recomend me to buy
For games, the original Core 2 Quad would be a better choice, on your budget you can afford a Q9650, a Rampage Formula motherboard and 4GB of PC8500 Corsair RAM easily. EVGA do not make good motherboards either, for the record. The rest of your parts are solid, but don't forget the CD drive. Also, you'll want more than 150GB to install your games, by all means get the WD VelociRaptor, but I'd go for a big extra HDD like a Samsung HD753LJ too.
ok thnxs for the info i think il build one hoping not tu burn anithig lol so for gaming graphics what is better a Geforce 280gtx x2 1Gb in sli mode or the ati raedeon hd 4870x2 2gb and the upgrad it to crossfire with a second one
Will you be using a 30" PC monitor, specifically? (Not an HDTV, no matter how big, or any other monitor, specifically a 30") - because if you're using anything else, both of those options are pointless. One HD4870X2 will be sufficient, trust me.
