Demuxed files won't fit on DVD

I have demuxed a 2 hour program from HDTV and now have the .mp2 and .m2v files.

However when using TMPGEnc DVD Author I can't get the movie down to a size which will fit on a standard DVD.

I tried loading the Video_TS folder into DVD Shrink and even Shrink can't compress it enough to fit onto a DVD, although it came close.

Is there another program which will compress, or offer more options to compress to fit on a DVD? Or am i doing something wrong at the demux stage (i used project x by the way)

    Thanks.

It seems you used a too high bitrate, to create your M2V file.
But why DVD Shrink cannot 'compress it enough' ? There's no apparent reason for a 2h movie being unable to fit a DVD.
A way could be using VobBlanker on Video_ts, first.
But I would need to know more about this error, to help you.

In relation to Shrink not compressing it enough, its already at the highest compression setting (53.5%), which is going to eat into the quality level anyway. But i can't get it to compress any more than this, even entering the compression rate manually.

Could you recommend another program which would allow me to create the m2v files or should projectx allow me to change the bit rate?

    Thanks for the help.
