desktop computer (quad core) please help!

    im looking for a new desktop computer and have found this acer quad core...



    Acer desktop computer

    is it any good?

    anyone got any more good deals like that for around the same price (prefer one with a monitor!

    Depends what you're using it for. I tend not to recommend any Acer products as they're usually pretty low quality.

    just for multitasking family use and wathing dvd's donwloading a few things and using the internet daily!

    would you say this is better than that acer i posted? its a dell...

    Yeah that's a better buy. It's a reasonably powerful PC for multitasking and general use, the only thing it can't do is play games. As long as that's not on your list of things it needs to do, it's a nice system.

    one thing though... if i get that quad core i heard you can't upgrade to windows 7? Is that right?

    would it be better to wait until windows 7 is out and then buy a computer?

    All PCs that come with windows vista should have a free upgrade to windows 7, it just looks like PC world have omitted it from the website. Since that's a Dell PC, check out Dell's own website - they may be able to give you a better deal, or a better explanation about the specifications.

    Also, I doubt it could play HD video...even with a Blu Ray Drive installed.

    The X4500 can't play 1080p video, but 720p should be alright.
