i use windows xp and prefered it when my icons on my desktop didn't have a box around the text.

does any1 know how to get it back to normal (just text under the icon, not text in a boox under the icon )

Just to add a little to what DVDBack started. Do as was suggested before ie right click on your desktop and click Properties. Then click on the desktop tab->customize desktop->web tab. Now uncheck the "My current homepage" box. Then OK->OK->Apply->OK. This will work if you have your icons occupying part of your desktop and your homepage occupying the rest of it. If you already have a uniform wall paper background and the icons with the text in a box below then I'd have to do some more brainstorming to find a solution. Hope this helps.
