    Hi,
I am still having problems trying to get my Eurovox Max blue out of stand by mode.
I have looked at loads of posts and bought the cable but I think I am doing something wrong.
When I tried to connect to the PC nothing happens.
Could someone please advice exactly what I need to do to get it going again?

Some reasons that I am confused are as follows –

    * Do I need to have the Eurovox connected to the TV the usual way and then the Eurovox connected to the PC via the null cable?
    * Do I need to boot things in a certain order?
    * Do I need to take the box apart and press the re-set button and if so when?

I am usually pretty good with these sorts of things but I am stumped!

Please confirm what software I need and how I connect everything and in what order I do the flash.

I tried it without the box being connected to the TV is this why it wouldn’t work?
I just need to know if I need to buy a new one!!!!

    Thanks for reading!

    Best wishes,

    Alan

Have you got any firmware loaded onto the box? As it is a 2006 model I presume you have.

    Hi,
    Yes its the 2006.
Right now I have the cable connected to the box and then to the PC.
    I have this.......
    EUROVOX_MAX_BLUE_BOX_19_02_07.bin
And I have tried to use Voxer and EuromaxLoader updated version.exe.
Am I doing some thing wrong?
I have been opening the loader, clicking browse, finding the firmware and then choosing com 2 as all the rest are unavailable for some reason.
It just says 'waiting for the resp of your recvr'.
Any ideas? Do I need to press the re-set button?

    ARRRRGGGHHHHH!!!!

Apologies but you caught me at a bad time as I have to leave. I presume you are using the correct null modem cable?

Also was you box working and then just give up the ghost, if so you may need to have it jtagged. Sorry but I will have to fly, feel free to post and I will see if I can pick it up later.

    Thanks,
It was working for months then stopped!
I have no idea what Jtagged means but will check back when you have more time!

Leave the jtag as a last resort. Open up the box and if you look in the box on the left had side you have the power supply (brown circuit board). At the top look at the main supply coming into the brown board it has a round dark brown cap with "12.0a250v", writen in small writing. See if this is blown and also look at the yellow square type caps and see if any of the tops has blown off.

    Also I forgot to ask.
May sound like a silly question but do I need to have the box hooked up to TV and cable feed when doing the flash?

The box needs to be in standby mode. You do not need it connected to either the TV or coax feed when flashing, although it is preferable to check if it is working or not. It does however sound like you need it jtagged. For info on this you can check the link at the end of my post entitled SV EV Info. BTW I have seen you post this on other forums.

By the way you are going to confuse yourself if you keep asking the same questions and getting the same answers on the other forum you are on at the moment. You are also known under the name theymademedoit.

    Hi,
Thanks for pointing me in the Jtag direction.
I bought it and it found, erased and wrote to the box but when I tried to do a firmware update using Voxer it says that the device cannot be found.
I tried with Dnupman and still no joy.

Is there anything else you can suggest or is it dead?

    Regards,
    Alan

Do you have power on the box now, i.e is the front display OK and are you using the correct null modem cable?

    Hi
All I have on the front is the red standby light.
Nothing else even if I press the power on button on the front.
The remote does nothing either. Just the standby light.
The null cable I have is this……………… http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Null-Modem-Ca...ryZ41995QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

    Is this right?

Sounds like it is either not jtagged correctly or you have a hardware problem, e.g faulty psu.

Should I try to Jtag again?
It all seemed to run through the Jtag fine without probs.

    1) Does red wire need to be the top right pin as you are looking down on it with the front of the box facing you?
    2) I clipped the vcc croc onto the left side of the diode looking down on it with the front of the box facing me is this right?

I then set the Skymax to 2mb, clicked start then erase. Loaded the TSOP and then write.
It took about a minute or so then I switched the box off.
Connected the Null and then using voxer loaded the firmware, switched on box and it could not find it.

    Is this the correct procedure?

The procedure sounds fine but it is quite hard for me to visualise what you have done exactly are I am not there beside you as such. If it was done correctly your box should come on in standby mode.

    Hi,
When I plug it in it does come on in standby but only with the red light nothing else and I cant get it out of stand by nor do any dashes or anything appear
This is a cloned box bought in 2006. It worked fine for around 4 months then nothing!!!

I had a look at your Eurovox clone folder and downloaded the -
    EV_MAX_BLUE_190207

The CD that came with the Jtag has the following on it -
    EUROVOX BLUE TSOP FLASH

Do I need to use the one downloaded from you instead because it’s a clone?

If you could briefly tell me what to connect where, when to connect it and what software I need to use for my 2006 Blue cloned box I will try not to bother you anymore!

I really appreciate your time and effort that you have put into helping me!!!
I have spent hours and hours on this and its driving me completely mental!

    Regards,
    Al
