I have looked at about 6 pages to see if the question has already been answered. I didn't reconize it if it has, so Im sorry for asking the same question that someone already has.

I have DVDFab Decrypter, DVD Shrink3.2 and ImgBurn. I am able to do all the steps up until I get to the ImgBurn. Where it says Device Not Ready (Medium Not Prestent). What does this mean??? I was using the old DVDDecrypter and have been using it for over a year. It said the same thing so I downloaded the ImgBurn thinking maybe I needed an updated version to fix my problem. BUT it still says the same thing.

Although I have been doing this for over a year, I still don't fully understand it. So whoever answers please keep it simple :)

Thank you soooo much for any help that can be provided!!

This means that it can not read and recognize the media/blank DVD that is in the DVD drive.

Try and download this program called DVD Identifier It will tell you the true manufacturer of the blank media you are using.

    Good luck... :)

How is she supposed to find the Manufactures ID# of the media if her drive reports there is no media present? I have never had this problem but i would think if his drive will not read the media then it wouldn't be able to get the ID#.

Even tho DVD Identifier is a good program I can not see it being able to help out if the media is unreadable with her drive. Or is there a standard way that DVD manufactures put this information on the media?

I also agree with 300bowler update your firmware. Plus make sure you are using compatible media. (Example: Your DVD drive might only be compatible with DVD+R media and you are using DVD-R) Also most DVD Drive manufactures have a compatibility list for media BRAND to use on the drive.

The brand of DVD's Im using is Maxell. Yes I know it's not top of the line, but it has always worked before. I have used most of the different types of DVD disks. The DVD+R 8x, DVD-R 8x and 16x. The burner is Emprex by CyberLink (I believe). Emprex is on the actual burner and CyberLink is on the software. I have the latest version that LiveUpdate has for my burner.

So does this mean that the disks now are more up to date then my burner will allow at this time? Is that why it wont read the disks?

In regards to the DVD Identifier. I clicked on the link, but the site did not come up. I will try this again later.

Thank you sooo much for all your help.

    P.S. Im a girl ;P

Sorry about the He/She mix up LOL I corrected my post above.

I would try different media to see if it is a media compatibility issue.

I know you have said you used these brands before but often Maxwel will use different manufactures to make the DVD's so you will not necessity get the same quality media. Is this a new spindle of disc you are using? Or is this a spindle that you have used half of the DVD's before this problem occurred?

What model # and firmware is the DVD drive you have? (PowerDVD is the program that is used to play the DVD's) It has nothing to do with the brand and model# of the burner.

Even tho you gave the brand of the Burner (Emprex) We still need to know what the Model# is plus the firmware to help make sure you have the latest updated firmware.

If you do not know how to find out what the Model# is and Firmware is you can find out by starting IMGBurn and at the top of the right window in light typing it should give you the information of your drive and firmware.
