I tried both Shoey's tutorial for backing up secuROM 4.48. blah blah. and tryed mounting the ccd image with Daemon tools. and everything I tried it says "please insert disc labled 'EXPANSION'"

I have a Sony DRU-700a dual layer dvd/ cd burner

the LoD expansion uses secuROM 4.47.00.0039 btw.

its strange that Diablo 2 was so easy to back up, and this expansion pack is such a bitch.

get alcohol 120% and clonecd. make an image with clone cd using the "Copy Protected Game" feature. inclued the "make a cue sheet". after making an image of the disc, load it up in a virtual drive of alcohol 120%. then just run it from there. u can also use nero to burn the image using the cue sheet and that works too. this is exactly wut i did to coy sims 2, diablo 2 exp, age of mythology, etc. they all work :p. hope this helps :D

This is why I love my Plex P. It does Securom like a charm w/ just a couple clicks, but heres another way to make a backup of ur game, is to use CLoneCD w/ the twinpeak method go here for a tut. http://forums.makeabackup.com/viewtopic.php?t=741 I think this will help you to. :) good luck

Same goes for me. There isn't a better drive made for SecuROM.

I tried that tutorial and just got another coaster. the last part of the tutorial says to "enable hide CD-R media" and then refered to a dead link?

I don't see any options in cloneCD to do so?

I wonder if the the BIN image I downloaded was made incorrectly to begin with?

trick is to install it from the same virtual drive your gonna be running it from, as long as you do that it works like a charm. I used Alcohol 120% to make the images and Daemon Tools to mount them. I've done it on 3 machines now and it always works, I just always leave Daemon Tools with a virtual drive and LOD in it, so it doesn't get complicated.
