What did I do wrong? I was rebuilding the Xbox's HD with XBHDMaker. Then I went to the restroom, (damn spicy foods) to my surprise, the rebuilding was done after I typed only a few "yes". Okay, then I went ahead quit, then reboot and locked the HD. Hard Drive successfully locked! Then I plug it in the Xbox, and bad, nothing boots, the "green" service screen pops up. I figure it was the partitions during the building of the HD. It was much too fast and something must have happened. So what now? How do I unlock this drive and allow it to be fixed again? Or am I screwed? HD: WD3200AAJB
Any other way to restore this 320gb that was NEVER used in the Xbox? I do have the EEPROM, but I do not have the Xbox anymore.
Ignore the above comment! You obviously did something wrong! Plug the HDD back into the PC, unlock it just as you did when you locked it (unlockhd -a) and start the process over again! Refer to my HDD upgrade tutorial for more info!
Yeah, I figured I did something wrong. Maybe I hit n instead of y. T_T I've done a few boxes before but this is first time I had a problem. I tried the unlockhd -a. But when I do that it says no drive is detected in primary master, however during the loading screen, it clearly says "hda: WD3200AAJB".
Is this what I need to follow? http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/583612 Problem is, I don't have the Xbox which it was originally created for. If you are pointing me to this... Which I followed to swap my HDD the first few times, and I thank you. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/533828 Which doesn't seem to have any tips for my situation, other than plugging in the cable after it gets to the first few options, which I have done and MUST do in order to lock the HD. Anything else? I'm ready to burn the 320gb HD.
Thanks chunkhead for your input! I was able to mess with it and I changed the jumper from "master" to none. Which then seemed to allow me to be able to unlock the drive with the EEPROM XBHDMaker Disc. Not sure what exactly changed, but I guess it saved a 320gb hd. Thanks again! I couldn't have done it without the help of this forum!
Yah, it I was surprised as well... >_> With no jumpers, the drive says "Master or Single" With the jumper in the middle, it is "Master w/ Slave". Oh well. =D
Had another member a moment ago get similar results by changing the jumper to Master... Seems like we're on to a winner here!
