Just bought the VP-D351 ..I would like to transfer my video clips onto a DVD.How do I go about doing this?I have done some research..Are the 4 pin firewire cable/firewire card all I need to buy to do this?! Thanks so much
Yes, you only need with the right cable + Firewire port on your PC + software for capturing. Check this page + links: http://www.digitalvideoclub.com/basics/tapetodvd.php
Thankyou for your reply however Im still confused! The link you provided tells you to use just the firewire cable and the software CD of course...It does not mention the firewire card at all!The instruction book says that you should not use the camcorder and the IEEE 1394(I guess thats the firewire card)together! So do I or dont I need to buy the card? Thanks
Well, if you connect using Firewire you are of course connecting to a Firewire port... ;-) Your PC must have one on board. If it's not standard on your machine you will have to buy a Firewire card; costs $20 or less. That's a strange statement. I assume it was stated somewhere in a context where it was explaining how to connect your camcorder using USB and it then tells you not to connect USB and Firewire simultaneously....
Yeah I cant figure out that statement yet..Well thankyou very much for your help.Ill go ahead and buy the firewire cable and see how it goes. Thanks again
I'm sure it's gonna go great. You can use any software to actually control the transfer. If you use MovieMaker be sure to read this: http://www.digitalvideoclub.com/tutorials/moviemakermistakes.php Therea re also a lot of freeware programs around thay you cna use to do it.
