Looking at getting a camcorder, but don't really know much about all the technical stuff. I bought my step-daughter an 8 mega-pixel digital camera about 6 months ago, and it ALSO takes video (which I was unaware) She took some video of my sons birthday party and it looked pretty decent. So my question is: Is the quality or format of the videos taken with her camera much worse than that which would be recorded with an actual camcorder? (I believe her video is AVI)
It's in the eyes of the beholder. I shoot a lot of video with some digicams, I have some camcorders. I've gotten a lot more "unexpected events" with my digicam.
