Is there a way to go directly from my video camera connected to pc to dvd burner? Or a recommended capture software that doesn't make a lower quality output? Many of our home videos don't need any editing so I thought it would be easier to just pass through. Or is there a way to save the capture so I can use dvdshrink?

All Capture software will produce lower Quality that the original when comeing from an analogue source...If your Captureing footage you shot useing a DV CamCorder then proper DV Capture software Like WinDV or Scenalizer Live will transfer the Video on the DV tape to your PC without any quality loss at all...
But Other than this I don"t understand your problem....
