His disability is what got him mugged. Happens all the time; they target anyone with a disability or the elderly as they can't fight back. My cousin connie has to use braces which can be spotted a mile away. She's been mugged three times. Away from home and her neighborhood, she doesn't dare got anywhere alone anymore.

What really sickens me, is the fact that if the people who did this were caught, very little would be done. In the UK, the perps would be given a slap on the wrist. Our legal system is so completely f*cked up & twisted, the legal system treats the criminals with kid gloves.

Only yesterday, a student who sexually assaulted a woman, was let off jail, as long as he promised to write a letter of apology to his victim.
I would have removed his testicles with a blunt pair of scissors. I get sick to the bone of the judiciary feeling sorry for the criminals.

The victims are never taken into account. Sentences like the above are a real kick in the teeth for the victims. The Brits are rapidly losing faith in the legal system & with no wonder.

The cowardice shown by the criminals is compounded by the sentencing.

Our legal system doesn't exist. I'd like to think that if someone took my life, then that person's life would be taken too- but the truth is, they'd get 8 years in a cushy jail with a telly & tea&toast..

Not long ago, I had a guy in the office who had just been released after 23 years of state incarceration. When I asked what he was conviced of, he casually responded "....oh, it really was just a domestic dispute". Hell, it must have been a doozie!

@Ireland ... I withdraw my "they can't fight back" part of my post LOL! Poor choice of words, but the fact that they made a target of you was my point, as I'm sure you know.

You know, here in center city, they have these classes for the elderly on how to fight / defend yourself with a cane; it's based on some sort of English fighting style. I keep thinking of joining up for two reasons: I walk with a cane a lot so it would be useful (if not wise) secondly, I'll be the youngest one there ... the young and limber jock of the group lol!

the trick with a cane is to have the cane weighted with lead at the very bottom of the cane..,as one wack on the head can and will fracture a persons head.
