Just installed my Qoob Pro chip. When I power on, it boots to the Qoob screen. When I hit buttons, nothing happens. Under drive it says "N/A".

I checked all the connections, they appear to be good and the only bridge is the one you are supposed to have. I can connect through USB using qoob_flash. The fan spins and the light in the front of the GC is on.

Is there something I might have disconnected or connected that shouldnt be?

    Thanks for any help.

I have almost the same problem, everythings seems to be fine, org menu works, sound works, picture is fine... but it wont spin the disc, I can hear the laser focusing (or whatever). But it wont read / find the discs (originals)

    what is wrong?

I took a knife that had a very thin blade and slide it in between every connection.

One of the ones on the chip had barely any solder connected to another part. I knocked it off and it was working

    :D

you mean you had connected two pins that shouldent have been connected?
and when you removed the bad solder everything worked?

I cant find any bad solders... :( but it still won't find or spin discs, original discs.

    IT'S CALLED NINTENDOS SECURITY FEATURE

nintendo has already announced that newer gamecubes will have the ability as of july of this year to disable mod chips if they are detected this is due to the recent illegal copy's poring out of countries like china and japan where nintendo is still busting fraudulant gamecube and gameboy advance titles

There was a problem with the lid switch cable, so I just used it the original way...

I dont connect the Qoobchip to the lid swithc cable. so the 4 blue wires is unconnected.

But I think you got a more serious problem, since you get Drive : N/A
    I never got that.

merola, I got the same problem with it not spinning. I diconnected the qoob wire and put in the original one and it spins up and loads my original games. I haven't burned any home brews yet, but I don't get the qoob boot screen at all. My question is, don't you HAVE to have this plugged in to get to the qoob boot screen? Will any home brew games still work?

I get the Qoob screen without the lid switch cable, It's been a while
since I have used the GC, but if i'm not mistaken, the lidswitch cable is only in use with multi disc games...

My Qoob works perfectly without the lid switch cable attached, org and backups...
