Have a Pioneer DVDR 104 Superdrive for the iMac.

Used Mac the Ripper/DVD2OneX and then tried to burn image in disk utility. Got an error message "Underrun Buffer" or something to that effect. My question is, would Toast solve this problem or is it something with my drive....

I've read that the underrun buffer error can because of a dirty or scratched disc (i'm using brand new right out of the box, so this isn't the issue). I also saw that maybe there's not enough room on the drive (I currently have 56g free on my hard drive, so this doesn't make sense either.

Bottome line, would Toast 6 be able to burn my images from DVD2ONEX being that I can't burn them in disc utility?

    Thanks in advance.

Disc Utility is for the girls. ;)

Toast is the proper burning software, and highly recommended.

LOL...that's fine and all, I wouldn't mind shelling out the money for it either, but will it work?

Will it work being that disc utility does not work?

I canĀ“t be 100% sure.. I guess the first question would be, that what does this "buffer underrun" in the first place.

Toast has this "Buffer Underrun Prevention", but your recorder has to support this I guess..

    http://www.roxio.com/en/support/kb/toast/ET60000092.jhtml :

"Why can't I select the Buffer Underrun Prevention option in Toast?:

If your recorder supports Buffer Underrun Prevention, you will be able to select this option in the Advanced tab of the Recorder Settings sheet in Toast. Not all recorders support this option.

Note that Buffer Underrun Prevention is not an option when using DVD+R/RW blank media. Some combination DVD+R/RW & DVD-R/RW recorders do support Buffer Underrun Prevention, but only when using -R/RW blank media."

The correct format for a DVD video disc is UDF. Disc utility doesn't do UDF.

    So Toast 6 burns UDF.

Botton line - I buy Toast, I should be good to go, right?

    Thanks again.

    Mac the ripper to rip.
    Dvd2oneX to compress if needed.
    Toast to burn.
