I tried to use the following two programs to convert some video files encoded in DivX and XviD to dvd, one is Nero Vision 3 and other is WinAVI Video Converter 7.7. These files were backups of my original DVD movies. The problems I faced in the both programs is that the sound was considerably down and in case of Win AVI, the video seemed a bit [while watching minutely] jarky.

Could any one please tell me how can I best get my DVDs back from the backups?

    Please help :(

ok so you ripped your dvd's to dvix right? now you want to put them back to dvd right? why don't you just use dvd shrink with anydvd, or dvd region + css free, and make a backup from your orignal dvd? that way you don't have to worry as you stated the converted ones are bad right? you don't want to mess arround using the bad converted ones, trying to make someting good out of bad rip. hope this helps good luck happy burning have a nice day

    Thanks friends

I have somewhat narrowed down and this is what I use presently:

    demuxing: VirtualDub
Audio Conversion: Wave to AC3 converter
    Encoding: CCE or HCEnc
Authoring: DVD Styler or DVD lab Pro
