ok i have some divx movies with aspect ratio stretched out and looks all crappy, in vlc player if i switch it to 16:9 it looks perfect, is there a way for me to fix these so they will play on my dvp642 with proper ar that dosent involve days of reencoding? thanx for any replys.
Depends if the player supports reading PAR info or not. Somehow I doubt it, but it is worth checking. Works fine on my MTK based player (642 is ESS based). You can use this: http://celticdruid.no-ip.com/test/testar.avi to test. Just burn to a CDRW or something. If your player doesn't respect PAR info, then you need to re-encode.
