Has anyone tried the latest version of Divx 6.0? I am currently using the trial version. After i drag the .vob files into the converter and click convert the converter analyes everything and then starts to encode. Well after about 10 minute I get a error messages saying not enough disk space. I have about 20GB of free space. ???????. I used Dr. Divx in the past and it worked fine. Config. Win XP-Pro updated, 2200 athlon xp, 512 Ram, 120GB HD, Pioneer DVD-RW.
I'm having exactly the same error. I've got 50gigs of disk space free. The only difference is that DivX Converter chugs along happily for five hours, and then ends with the message "DivX conversion is complete. DivX Converter has successfully converted 0 files due to insufficient disk space." I'm ripping the VOBs to the hard drive in IFO mode in DVD Decrypter. I've purchased the bundle with the mpeg plug-in. I've been unable to get a response from the good people at DivX.com as of yet. Anyone have any ideas on what is going on? BTW, AutoGK with DivX 5 works just fine on the same files.
LoL :^) So - what's yer problem!? Sheesh ;^) Fook DivX - use Koepi's XviD: http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/codecs_and_filters/xvid_koepi_unstable.cfm Anybody backing up DVDs to MPEG4 really needs 2 HDs to work with: One containing the input (VOBs from Decrypter) and one to receive the output AVI. I would rather have 2 x 120GB than 1 x 300GB, for that very reason... Can never have too much free space - but that is strange, those errors you are getting :^( Let us know what you (eventually) find out. Regards
Hi OGS --- I've got all of Koepi's stuff and have used it for a long time. It's just that I've *paid* for this DivX 6.0 Converter and the mpeg plug-in, and I'd like the damn thing to work :-( Plus, it's just fun and a challenge to fool with all these audio/video thingies, as I'm sure most hardcore AfterDawn types can attest to. I've got 2 x 80GB drives in this box that I built --- I don't think it's the disk space *per se* that's the problem --- rather a glitch in the DivX 6.0 Converter. I'm anxious for a new version of AutoGK to come out with support for the new DivX codec. In the meantime I'll let you know if I can get a response from Alastair or one of the other gearheads at DivX.com
Well i do have 2 HDs 2X120. But I don't see any setting in Divx converter 6 to point the output to a different drive. It outputs to a folder under the program install DIR and has a shortcut from the desktop. Reguardless of where it outputs. Both drives have more than enough room to encode a DVD.
Well, I'm here to report that my DivX 6.0 Converter has stopped working completely. It no longer will accept any files. I've tried a reboot and a reinstall, without any luck :-( NOT READY FOR PRIME TIME!! I'm sorry I purchased it.
I currently Own Nero 6.6. They just released nero digital recode update. Which is free to current nero users. This works better that divx I think. I was able to convert a 7.2 GB Moive into about 800MB (minus extras). I quality of the picture is great. And to top it all off it is in MPG4 format. I was going to buy Divx 6 but I guess I found an alternative for free that will allow me to carry movies on my laptop.
