This is my first post to AfterDawn but i've been a long time fan. I need help with a video file that is Divx with what seems to be hardcoded subtitles. I've tried using ConvertXtoDVD to burn the file for a dvd however i'm unable to convert it because it says the Subtitle codec DXSB isn't supported. I'm wondering if anyone has had any luck burning these types of Divx to a dvd, if so how?
The .divx file 'x-subs' are not hard coded - they are a separate stream. You can use AviAddXsubs to convert the .divx file into an .avi file that has no subtitle stream (check the 'No subtitles' button under the 'Configuration 1' tab). This is ok for someone who really doesn't need the subtitles, inasmuch as the video should now be acceptable for conversion to DVD. I don't know of any program that will demux or extract the subtitle stream from a DivX file. http://www.calcitapp.com/AVIAddXSubs.php
